Friends are Friends Forever

hey y'all,

the post title is from a contemporary christian song by michael w. smith ... "friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them." i guess meaning that the true bond of friendship, the tie that binds them, is their shared faith in God.

well, i've seen many "christian friends" come and many go, so that may not be the magical ingredient in a lasting friendship. for some, maybe. for others, not so much.

but ANYway, what i wanted to write about is how thankful i am for my friends. i don't have a plethora of them, because i believe in quality over quantity. and my friends are some of the very best people in the entire world.

the FAGs. y'all know how i love my FAGs. go ahead. click the link and read all about us if you don't know who/what we are. they are great shopping buddies, sure. but the FAGs are united on a much deeper level. we're best of friends, sisters by choice. and yes, we do love the Lord and pray for each other continually. i'm so thankful for these special ladies in my life.

my nurse buddies. i've worked with these wonderful women for many years and i am very proud to call them friends. we also pray for each other through the crises of our lives.

there are several others of you out there who i don't get to see or talk to on a regular basis. but you know who you are because you're reading this!

sadly, if i started naming names, i'd likely leave out someone and then i'd have a stroke or a heart attack from the shame. and we wouldn't want that, would we?! so to all my junking/blogging/emailing/childhood friends, near and far, i love you and am so thankful for YOU too!

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. ~~ Albert Schweitzer

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. ~~ Marcel Proust

love and hugs,

trying to take our own picture with my iphone, i ended up with only 2/3 of us in the shot. poor jannetta got left out.

okay, let's try that again. ooops! almost but not quite. that damn texas wind didn't help matters much either.

YEA!! finally! all three of us, wind blown but still smiling! the FAGs!

Great pics of your friends terry lee. Love how you kept fighting that wind till you finally got a pic of all three of you. I'm grateful for the friends I have also. The ones I feel close to even when time has passed and we dont see each other very often. The ones I talk to almost daily on the phone but also the understanding we have among us when days may go by without talking. And I'm grateful for by blogging friends too. I condider you one of the best of them. We will probably never meet our blog friends but we still seem to share a bond.
Take care and have a great day!! Hugs,Betty
