hey y'all,
am keeping it short and sweet today. :-) honestly.
breaking from the past two days of being thankful for
people, i decided to throw a curve ball at you today.
as many of you know, i'm an avid reader (and writer). i
love books. reading is one of my
very favorite things to do (right up there with junking!!). what a blessing it is to curl up in bed each night with a great read. oh, and my hubby too. ;-)
i'm thankful i have a
passion for reading because a good book nourishes your mind ... and your soul.
“Let us read and let us dance - two amusements that will never do any harm to the world.” ~~ Voltaire"She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain." (1873)

*~*~*~some of my favorite books, with quotes. enjoy!~*~*~*
Landon, speaking of Jamie: "Our love is like the wind ... I can’t see it, but I sure can feel it." ~~ Nicholas Sparks
Scout: "She seemed glad to see me when I appeared in the kitchen, and by watching her I began to think there was some skill involved in being a girl." ~~ Harper Lee
Jane Eyre: "I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will ..." ~~ Charlotte Bronte
Scarlett O'Hara: "I won't think of it now. I can't stand it now. I'll think of it later." ~~ Margaret Mitchell
"It was a sound like someone trying not to make a sound." ~~ John Irving
Peggy Cort: “Books are a bad family - there are those you love, and those you are indifferent to; idiots and mad cousins who you would banish except others enjoy their company; wrongheaded but fascinating eccentrics and dreamy geniuses; orphaned grandchildren; and endless brothers-in-law simply taking up space who you wish you could send straight to hell. Except you can't, for the most part. You must house them and make them comfortable and worry about them when they go on trips and there is never enough room.” ~~ Elizabeth McCrackin
Holden Caulfield: "I'm the most terrific liar you ever saw in your life. It's awful. If I'm on my way to the store to buy a magazine, even, and somebody asks me where I'm going, I'm liable to say I'm going to the opera. It's terrible." ~~ J.D. Salinger
"Ria looked with wonder at the man her sister was going to marry. Hilary, who had once been able to throw away a week's salary on a fortune-teller, was now talking about the cost of having shoes repaired and the folly of making a telephone call outside the cheap times." ~~ Maeve Binchy
Rebecca Bloomwood: "You know that thing when you see someone cute and he smiles and your heart kind of goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast? Well that's what it's like when I see a store. Only it's better." ~~ Sophie Kinsella
